Medical Illustrators create visual representations of medical and biological subjects for educational, instructional, and research purposes, combining artistic skills with scientific knowledge.
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Illustration, Biological Illustration, Fine Arts with a focus on medical subjects, or related fields.
Master’s degree may be preferred for advanced positions or specialized areas.
Proficiency in digital illustration software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D modeling software.
Strong artistic skills, including anatomy drawing, perspective, shading, and color theory.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Attention to detail and ability to communicate complex scientific concepts visually.
